It has long been conventional military wisdom that well trained soldiers and sailors are as essential to effective military operations as “state of the art” weapon systems and an adequate link to supplies. Since the renaissance of the U.S. armed forces beginning in the 1980’s significant resources have been dedicated to training and re-training. The result has been the creation of the finest military in the world.
With its unique collegiate and military atmosphere and a spectacular campus overlooking Long Island Sound, The Global Maritime and Transportation School is dedicated to serving the specialized training needs of the U.S. Coast Guard.

One of the top missions of the Global Maritime and Transportation School (GMATS) is to offer leading edge education and training programs that will benefit the U.S. Coast Guard to develop a variety of skills needed.
